About Me
Kristl Yuen first experienced acupuncture as a child growing up in Kailua, Hawaii. The first treatment she received was so successful at relieving asthma symptoms that she knew immediately that she wanted to be an acupuncturist. In high school, she had a part time job working for an acupuncturist in her home town, and learned about various treatment modalities as well as what it takes to run a successful practice. After studying at Boston College, she attended the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu, HI before transferring to Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL, where she earned a four-year Masters of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). She is a fully licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the State of Illinois and is certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In her free time, Kristl enjoys taking her dog Bradley to the beach and singing in a local community choir.
